New and old in harmony

The Symphoniker Hamburg under their chief conductor Sylvain Cambreling open the fourth concert of the VielHarmonie series with two sensational works of New Music: »Autoritratto nella notte« by the contemporary composer Salvatore Sciarrino and Luciano Berio’s »SOLO for trombone and orchestra«. Mikael Rudolfsson gives his debut on a rarely heard solo instrument. The concert comes to a close with Ludwig van Beethoven’s humorous Eighth Symphony, which is often overlooked next to her »big sister«.
