Plácido Domingo
It was the character of Othello in Verdi’s Shakespeare opera of the same name that brought Plácido Domingo his breakthrough in 1975 as a world star. His legendary career as tenor began at the Hamburg State Opera. Thenceforth, Domingo went from one success to another: some 4,000 appearances as a singer or conductor in leading opera houses and a repertoire encompassing an amazing 150 roles make him one of the best and most influential figures in the history of opera. Accompanied by the Mecklenburgische Staatskapelle Schwerin and soprano Ana María Martínez, Plácido Domingo gives a concert in the Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall with popular arias and duets from his extensive repertoire.
