Philharmonic Chamber Music Recital
Hummel / Fesca
Chamber music treasures that should not be neglected
In this chamber-music concert, the musicians of the Philharmonic State Orchestra perform two early Romantic jewels that had hitherto sunk into oblivion in the Elbphilharmonie Recital Hall. One of them is the Septet in D minor by Johann Nepomuk Hummel, which was seen as one of the leading works of chamber music in the 19th century. The other is Alexander Fesca’s Septet in C minor, a delightful piece, rich in sound and brimming with joie de vivre.
