Patricia Kopatchinskaja / Sol Gabetta
Bach / Scarlatti / Ravel / Kodály ...
An evening of contrasts
The clear sing-song of the violin and the dark, soulful tones of the cello: Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Sol Gabetta, two internationally acclaimed masters of their art, perform as a duo in a very special concert. And the programme is just as rich in contrast as the sounds of their instruments. Ancient works by Domenico Scarlatti meet modern pieces by György Ligeti and Jörg Widmann, and arrangements such as that of the Fugue in E Minor from Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier meet original compositions by Maurice Ravel and Zoltán Kodály.
