Orchestre de Berlin / Jens Peter Maintz / Hartmut Rohde
100 Years of Ursula Mamlok – with works by Mozart, Mamlok, Haydn and Brahms
Hartmut Rohde, violist and conductor, Jens Peter Maintz, cellist – they perform worldwide as soloists, chamber musicians and with orchestras, they teach as professors at the Berlin University of the Arts, among others. With the Orchestre de Berlin, they pay tribute to Ursula Mamlok on her 100th birthday. Born in Berlin, she fled Nazi persecution in 1939 and worked in the USA for 66 years. She spent the last years of her life in Berlin. Haydn’s sense of virtuosity and transparency and Brahms’ concentrated tonal language acted as models for her.
