Orchestra Baobab is regarded as the Buena Vista Social Club of West Africa. The iconic 10-piece dance-band delivers iconic classics from their extensive repertoire and alternates them with fresh tunes that fuse Afro-Cuban rhythms and music of the diverse African tradition. Almost half a century since their formation, the band released their latest album earlier this year. Produced by Nick Gold, the critically acclaimed »Tribute to Ndiouga Dieng« (World Circuit) is dedicated to the singer of Orchestra Baobab who passed away last year.

Orchestra Baobab performs in the place of singer Salif Keïta, who was forced to cancel his concert at the Elbphilharmonie due to health reasons. Tickets purchased for the Salif Keïta concert retain their validity for the Orchestra Baobab concert that takes place at the same time and date. Alternatively, tickets may be refunded at the ticket shop where they were purchased.
