Proud plucking tradition

The NZO delights audiences with works from the Renaissance to the present day. Formed in 1959, the orchestra specialises mainly in compositions originally written for mandolin orchestra. The ensemble always aspires to give outstanding musical performances on instruments from the mandolin family, while also actively serving as a foundation for a community that brings together young and old alike. In this concert, the performance of the youth ensemble, consisting of children and adolescents aged from 10 to 16, testifies to the success of the orchestra’s youth development work.
