Nora Fischer, voice
Rising Stars
»Nora Fischer is a revelation. Her voice is both versatile and virtuosic, meshing beautifully with the instrumentalists«: that was BBC Music Magazine’s verdict on one of the singer’s recordings. The soprano comes from a distinguished family of musicians: her father is the renowned Hungarian conductor Iván Fischer.
In her recital, Nora Fischer embarks on a voyage through the ages. The evening begins with twentieth-century French music by Francis Poulenc and Olivier Messiaen, followed by a contrasting programme of early Baroque works by Italian masters such as Claudio Monteverdi, Jacopo Peri, Barbara Strozzi and Johann Hieronymus Kapsberger. Fischer is joined by Mike Fentross on the theorbo – a kind of bass lute – and Daniel Kool on the piano.
