Neue Wiener Concert Schrammeln feat. Maria Stippich
»Ganz Wien« Festival
The most passionate manifestation of the suffering that is characteristic of Vienna is probably to be found in Schrammel music: and the Neue Wiener Concert Schrammeln is bringing this late-nineteenth-century genre back to life. Not only do they dress it up in new garb, they also enrich it with the unique voices of Maria Stippich and Willi Resetarits.
The Neue Wiener Concert Schrammeln have been playing Schrammel music for more than 25 years, interpreting the old Viennese dances in a refreshingly contemporary way. Persistently dusting away the cobwebs, but still fully dedicated to the tradition and demonstrating high philharmonic quality. Equipped with violins, button accordion and contraguitar, they now bring newly arranged Strauss sounds to the Elbphilharmonie stage – accompanied by Maria Stippich and this time also with the cult Austrian musician Willi Resetarits as their special guest.
The »Ganz Wien« festival brings the Wienerlied (Viennese song) in all its forms to the stages of the Elbphilharmonie. A line-up of the contemporary scene’s most exciting artists exudes original Viennese flair and demonstrates the musical treasures the Austrian capital has to offer.
