The second day of the »Greatest Hits« Festival likewise revolves around the (musical) friendship between Morton Feldman and John Cage. The specialists of the Hamburg composers’ collective Nelly Boyd – the house ensemble of klub katarakt – select one work each by the two great American composers and juxtapose them with two representatives of the following generation, which makes for interesting listening.
The composers’ collective Nelly Boyd was founded in 2004, and its members belong to various disciplines such as art, classical composition, electro-acoustic music, rock and free improvisation. The alternating programmes are always conceptional in character, and make strong use of the performing situation in each case.
