George Benjamin’s »Dream of the Song«, premiered in 2015, is a total work of art whose music is simultaneously delicate and dense – like the play of light on water, under which fish occasionally scurry past. The British composer, to whom a special focus series is dedicated this season, chose eleventh-century Hebrew verse and poems by Federico García Lorca as the textual foundation for the work.
