NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra / Marek Janowski
Wagner
Marek Janowski and Richard Wagner – a combination to get the hearts of music lovers beating faster. As principal conductor of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, Janowski set new standards with his concert Wagner cycle in the Berlin Philharmonie in 2012 and 2013. In summer 2016 and 2017 he conducted Wagner’s »Ring des Nibelungen« at the Bayreuth Festival. Janowski is also fondly remembered by the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra ever since he stepped in at short notice to conduct concert performances of Wagner’s »Rheingold« in May 2017. The master interpreter of the German orchestral repertoire now returns to conduct an evening full of highlights from Wagner’s music dramas. Slipping into the roles of Isolde and Brünnhilde is another undisputed Wagner heroine of our time: the Swedish soprano singer Nina Stemme. A real treat – and not only for Wagnerians!
