NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra / Christoph von Dohnányi
Please note the change of artist!
When Christoph von Dohnányi returned to the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra’s podium last season after a long time away, the audience was reluctant to let him go away again after the concert: the intense interpretation of Bruckner’s Eighth Symphony was met with standing ovations – a fitting reception for the former chief conductor’s stunning artistic achievement. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long for the next comeback: a few months after his 90th birthday, von Dohnányi is back on the Elbphilharmonie stage, for the construction of which he actively campaigned.
Supporting programme: Just a few days after his concerts at the Elbphilharmonie, Maestro von Dohnányi introduces himself in conversation at the Kulturcafé:
Mon, 20 Jan 2020 18:00 / Talk at the Kulturcafé, Elbphilharmonie Kulturcafé
Please note: Luc Mangholz has regrettably been forced to cancel his appearance in this concert. Flautist Henrik Wiese steps in for him in Ligeti’s Double Concerto for Flute, Oboe and Orchestra.
