Cool and self-controlled
Cool jazz was the new sound that musicians like Miles Davis, Gerry Mulligan, John Lewis and others forged around 1950 alongside the predominant bebop. With the NDR Bigband, the band with which Chet Baker gave his last concert in 1988, Jörg Achim Keller gives sharper contours to this hard-to-grasp style.
