Music and Science / Themed Concert
Bach / Telemann
Our society is undergoing a transformation: the composition of society is being changed by demographic developments and migration, and family structures are altering, as is the working world. How can social legislation respond, without society losing its solidarity? How can it deal with the underlying vibes of the issue of change? Can equality be orchestrated without producing discord in connection with individual freedom? The Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra turn its attention to the subject, looking back with a good dose of humour, and interprets, for example, Johann Christoph Friedrich Bach’s solo cantata »Die Amerikanerin« as a tribute to the US Declaration of Independence, as well as Telemann’s »Burlesque de Quixotte«.
