Mozart: La clemenza di Tito / Cecilia Bartoli
Mozart
Turmoil in ancient Rome
Love and jealousy, friendship and betrayal, generosity and revenge – Mozart’s final Italian opera »La clemenza di Tito« has everything an epic Roman drama needs. And when a great diva takes on the main part, breath-taking excitement is guaranteed: after her debut in the role in Salzburg in 2021, Cecilia Bartoli now comes to Hamburg to perform as Sesto, the emperor’s friend who is torn between love and loyalty.
It goes without saying that the virtuosic mezzo-soprano is surrounded by a cast of equally impressive singers. In addition to the tenor John Osborn, who is often hailed as the »king of the top C« by the international press, and the soprano Alexandra Marcellier, Cecilia Bartoli is also accompanied by the Musiciens du Prince. The virtuosic original sound orchestra was formed in 2016 on her personal initiative. They are based in Monaco, where Cecilia Bartoli will become the opera house’s new artistic director in 2023.
