MIAGI Youth Orchestra / »100 Jahre Mandela«

Nelson Mandela would have turned 100 years old in summer 2018, and perhaps the iconic leader of the South African freedom movement would have wished for a very special ensemble to perform at the celebrations: the MIAGI Youth Orchestra. Founded in 2001 with support from the South African Department of Arts and Culture, it embodies everything Mandela stood for: equal opportunities and a spirit of cooperation, with no heed paid to background or skin colour.
