Menahem Pressler / Schumann Quartett
Mozart / Tchaikovsky / Franck
»I was hungry to make music my whole life – and I still am today.« And anyone who sees 94-year-old pianist Menahem Pressler performing on stage will willingly believe that. The members of the Schumann Quartet, with whom Pressler currently works intensively, describe the almost childlike astonishment in his eyes. Around 60 years of age separates the quartet from the virtuoso who established the first-class Beaux Arts Trio. However, the age gap is not noticeable: on stage are simply five excellent musicians who play chamber music at the highest level.
