When three exceptional soloists of Lisa Batiashvili, Gautier Capuçon and Jean-Yves Thibaudet’s calibre come together, you can really look forward to some very special chamber music moments. In an intimate atmosphere, the outstanding musicians open up a whole new soundscape of melting harmonies, in which each soloist’s individual characteristics still have space to unfold: the warm tones of the violinist Batiashvili, the powerful, refined playing of the cellist Capuçon and the poetic brilliance of the pianist Thibaudet all blend into a perfectly balanced triad. And the Elbphilharmonie’s acoustics also play their part, allowing the audience to enjoy even the subtlest nuances of Haydn, Arensky and Brahms’s piano trios.
