Landesjugendorchester Hamburg
Pärt / Elgar / Beethoven
Meditations on death, melancholy, fate – these are the topics that pervade the autumn programme of the Landesjugendorchester Hamburg. The orchestra presents the young cellist Constantin Pritz, who performs the solo part in the Cello Concerto in E Minor by Edward Elgar. Completing the programme are Arvo Pärt’s meditative »Cantus in Memoriam of Benjamin Britten« for 10-player string orchestra and bell, which is one of Pärt’s most famous works, and Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, »Fate«.
The Landesjugendorchester Hamburg is the city of Hamburg’s official youth orchestra and is funded by the Ministry of Culture. Constantin Pritz, born in 1994 in Hamburg, has been studying violoncello at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg since 2014.
