Ein besonderes Highlight des Kammermusikfestes ist das gemeinsame Konzert des weltbekannten italienischen Pianisten Bruno Canino und des Vogler Quartetts. Bevor sie das grandiose Klavierquintett f-Moll op. 34 von Johannes Brahms spielen, erklingt ein musikalischer Spiegel der verwirrenden Antagonismen des späten 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts. Dazu gehören Werke des deutsch-tschechischen Komponisten Erwin Schulhoff, dessen Schaffen alle Stilrichtungen, von Dadaismus über Jazz bis zum »Sozialistischen Realismus«, reflektiert. Grigori Frid modernisierte seit Mitte der sechziger Jahre mit dem Moskauer Jugend-Musikclub die russische Musik und belebte sie neu. Das Vogler Quartett spielt sein Streichquartett Nr. 5 zum ersten Mal in Hamburg. Zu den seltenen oder vergessenen Juwelen gehört mit Sicherheit der Komponist César Cui. Dieser komponierende Offizier der Armee des russischen Zaren trug wesentlich zur Entwicklung eines charakteristischen russischen Musikstils bei, empfand aber wegen seiner französisch-litauischen Herkunft seine Musik als nicht-russisch. Seine Musik ist überaus vielseitig und bemerkenswert.

Chamber music series, lieder recitals, children's concerts and jazz events seem to be made for the Recital Hall of the Laeiszhalle, which can accommodate up to 640 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
