Ray of hope

In the last programme of its 2023/24 season, the Klassische Philharmonie Bonn breaks new ground together with the multi-award-winning violinist Niklas Liepe. The programme includes »Tipping Points«, the violin concerto composed in 2023 by the English composer Rachel Portman. Oscar winner Portman is known for her film music, which can be heard in »Chocolat«, »Emma« and the Irving adaptation »The Cider House Rules«, among others.

The Klassische Philharmonie Bonn was founded in 1986, has around 60 members and performs its own regular concert series in concert halls throughout Germany. The orchestra’s repertoire ranges from music of the baroque to modern periods, with a particular focus on works from the First Viennese School, although contemporary works and compositions by school pupils are regularly found alongside Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.
