Kit Armstrong / Festival Strings Lucerne
Piano Recital
Kit Armstrong was what is generally known as a child prodigy. At the age of eight he was playing the piano better than many 20-year-olds; parallel to his keyboard career, he began to study mathematics and physics while still at high school; he took an interest in composition, poetry, languages – in short, everything that requires a brilliant mind. And it’s thanks to this brilliant mind that he managed to live with the burden of early fame and to free himself of the image of the child prodigy. Today the 25-year-old American pianist, who has been living in his own small church in the north of France for a few years now, is an emancipated artist in his own right. His carefully-planned programmes and perfect interpretations make this clear at every concert he gives. In the Festival Strings Lucerne he has found kindred spirits who share his musical ideals 100%.
