Kammerorchester Wien-Berlin / Rudolf Buchbinder / Rainer Honeck
Mendelssohn Bartholdy / Chopin / Dvořák – Hamburg International Music Festival
Romantic soirée
At the last concert in the series »Faszination Klassik«, the Vienna-Berlin Chamber Orchestra meets up with pianist Rudolf Buchbinder, whose intense study of the composers of the First Viennese School have influenced his clear touch and precise tonal culture. Qualities that also ensure a special listening experience in his readings of Romantic works: he will give proof of his unerring feeling for the music in Chopin’s First Piano Concerto, which leaves as much space for breathtaking virtuosity as it does for gentler sounds. The Vienna-Berlin Chamber Orchestra rounds off the evening with a repertoire classic in the shape of Dvořák’s spirited Serenade for Strings.
