Kammerorchester Basel / Meyer / Antonini
Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival
Sabine Meyer loves Mozart’s Concerto in A Major as much as the audience does, and she always discovers something new about it. This mainly has to do with the fact that Meyer plays the concerto on her basset clarinet. It has four more lower semitones and is thus longer than a standard clarinet. The additional notes are played with the right thumb, which otherwise holds the clarinet – a balancing act and challenge that Sabine Meyer truly enjoys. Not only Sabine Meyer, but also the fantastic Kammerorchester Basel under the baton of Giovanni Antonini guarantee a highly exciting interpretation of the work.
