Kammerakademie Potsdam / Fazıl Say
Haydn / Mozart / Say
His piano playing is peerless – based on classical training, but at the same time filled with moments of tension derived from free improvisation. This can be heard to perfection when Fazıl Say interprets his own works.
In his compositions, Fazıl Say always manages to forge links between the Eastern and Western musical traditions, between jazz, folk music and the classical repertoire. At their concert in the Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall, Say and the Kammerakademie Potsdam show to impressive effect that composers in earlier eras were already fascinated by Oriental sounds and stories.
