Interval champagne and cough drops
With string quartets, we may instinctively think of a complicated and elitist genre, or maybe of the yearned-for interval champagne or cough drops. However, with their debut album »Kaiser Quartett«, Ingmar Süberkrüb, Martin Bentz, Adam Zolynski and Jansen Folkers occasionally put classical music on the substitute’s bench in order to – with their musical openness and precise timing – give genres such as hip-hop, funk, electro and pop equal stylistic space. For their second album »Empire«, the four musicians retreated to the »Fattoria Musica« recording studio in the countryside near Osnabrück during the 2021 lockdown to develop their own compositions over several sessions.
