Jürgen Drews
»Es war alles am besten«
Jürgen Drews is considered one of the founding fathers of German pop music. In 1967 he founded the rock band »Die Anderen«, played in television and cinema films and in the first half of the 1970s joined the Les Humphries Singers, who headed the European charts with evergreens like »Mexico« and »Mama Loo«. In 1976 Drews landed his first hit, »Ein Bett im Kornfeld« (A Bed in the Cornfield), one of Germany’s best-known numbers to this day. With »Es war alles am besten« (It Was All the Best) the 70-year-old takes audiences on a journey through his life, reviving older hits, reviewing his time with the Les Humphries Singers and taking up the banjo once again.
