The »German Forrest Gump«

Jonas Deichmann earned this nickname by walking for thousands of miles through regions of Central America that are partly controlled by drug cartels. But the total of 5,060 kilometres that he covered on foot were just part of his incredible journey: the triathlon around the world took the extreme athlete to the icy solitude of Siberian forests, along off-road cycle routes through southern and central Europe and to the section of the Mediterranean between Croatia and Montenegro. Deichmann set off in Munich to swim,cycle and walk round the world. In his talk, he explains how he covered the 27,000 kilometres (equivalent to about 120 times the »Ironman« distance) with a minimal CO2 footprint. Exciting, entertaining and authentic!
