Jazz at the Kulturcafé
Shaul Bustan Trio
An old tape recorder with a single spool is the only evidence left of composer Shaul Bustan’s musical ancestors. Bustan’s great-grandfather, who was from Iran, was born into a musical family. He played traditional instruments and sang Persian folk music at the royal court. Shaul’s other great-grandfather, born and raised in Romania, was not only a great opera lover, he also performed Yiddish songs on the guitar and made Yiddish folklore accessible to people.
Jazz at the Kulturcafé is a monthly event presenting the most promising upcoming artists in the jazz and singer-songwriter scene. It is the perfect experimental platform for musicians and bands from Hamburg and all over the country. The atmosphere is laid back – and admission is free!
