In Ireland, the Celtic and Christian traditions have grown together to form a unique culture. The Green Isle is the ancient realm of saints and missionaries; but it is also the country of irrepressible zest for life, in which jigs, reels and square dances are a part of both ceremonial occasions and day-to-day life. Irish Christmas is one of those special celebrations when the sound of the harp, the fiddle and the pipes come together in a joyous rhythm. Dublin-born Janet Harbison presents this thrilling spectacle with her Irish Harp Orchestra and a troupe of dancers.
