Loving heroes, wrathful fathers

With his lean and nuanced tenor, Ian Bostridge is known as an exceptional lieder singer far beyond his native England. With three concerts in the Elbphilharmonie in the 2021/22 season, Bostridge demonstrates that he is also a master of the Baroque and classical aria repertoires. In the first concert he heads on a journey to the Baroque age with the early music ensemble Cappella Neapolitana. Italian operatic arias from Naples, Venice and Crema are juxtaposed with purely instrumental pieces to create a diverse and entertaining musical panorama.
