Hugar, meaning »thoughts« in Icelandic, is a fitting name for the duo consisting of multitalented instrumentalists and native Icelanders Bergur Þórisson and Pétur Jónsson. Hugar’s sweepingly multi-layered and ethereally ambient arrangements feature beautiful melodies with strings, piano and percussion.
The longtime friends began writing music together in 2013; one year later they released their self-titled debut album called »Hugar« and made it available for free on their website. In 2019, Hugar makes its third consecutive appearance at the Iceland Airwaves festival and brings along highly-anticipated new music and visuals for its European and Asian tours.
