The South Tyrolese musician Herbert Pixner and his band specialise in »handmade« instrumental music from the Alps. Between them, the four musicians play a huge number of instruments, among them – as you might expect – the button accordion, which is so typical of the Alpine region. Pixner also plays the clarinet, trumpet and horn. The band’s distinctive sound is an Alpine interpretation of flamenco, gypsy jazz, blues and rock. They now bring their latest project »Symphonic Alps« to the Laeiszhalle Grand Hall, supported by the Berliner Symphoniker.
