The concert programme of the Elbphilharmonie and the Laeiszhalle cannot go ahead as planned due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. This event has had to be cancelled – it will not be rescheduled on an alternative date. Ticket buyers and people participating in the order process will be informed by e-mail. We find ourselves dreaming, thinking up stories, wondering »How would it be if…?«: all the product of our untiring imagination. Two 19th century composers likewise gave their imagination free rein: Robert Schumann in Germany and Niels Gade in Denmark picked up their pens and wrote marvellous »Stimmungsbilder«, mood pictures that enchanted audiences – the »Fantasiestücke« turned into real box-office hits.
