Grigory Sokolov / Piano Recital
This man needs nothing but a grand piano. And a big stage. Those two ingredients were all Grigory Sokolov needed for a career that is truly unparalleled! No striking photos of the artist, no interviews searching for meaning, no lavish album productions. No, Sokolov is really only present on the concert platform, seated at the keyboard and conjuring up music that is hard to describe, and has been delighting audiences for many years now. He only announces his programme shortly before the recital, but every programme is so well compiled and balanced that it can open up completely new worlds. Schubert, Mozart, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Haydn – in Sokolov’s hands they are all transformed into a perfectly coordinated concert.
Please note: This event replaces the cancelled concert from 28 April 2020. Tickets purchased for the postponed concert are not valid for this event. Ticket buyers and subscribers will be informed soon.
