Georg Philipp Telemann – People and Nations
Substitute date
A Baroque journey around Europe
For their Elbphilharmonie debut, Ensemble Castor immerse themselves in the world of Baroque concerti, overtures and chamber music works. All the compositions performed allude to different national idioms – both musical and political. A polyglot musical round dance unfolds, from Georg Philipp Telemann’s overtures of nations and peoples, and François Couperin’s »La Françoise« and »La Piémontoise« from the outstanding cycle »Les Nations«, to Michel Corettte’s »La Turque et la Confession«. The dazzling soloist for the evening is the internationally successful flutist Jana Semerádová.
Please note: This event replaces the cancelled concert from 12 June 2021 and 25 June 2020. Tickets purchased for the postponed concert are valid for this event.
