Festival Sinfonieorchester Berlin / Andreas Knut
»Best of Ennio Morricone, Rota & Mancini«
Unforgetable soundtracks
The Italian Ennio Morricone was one of the most influential composers in film music history – he wrote over 500 film scores. In 2007, he received an Oscar for his life’s work. Morricone became particularly famous for his work on Sergio Leone’s films, including »The Good, the Bad and the Ugly«, »Once Upon a Time in Amercia« and »A Fistful of Dollars«. His music is known for its memorable melodies and distinctive soundscape achieved through the use of unconventional instruments such as the harmonica, ocarina and sitar. In addition to works by Morricone, this concert will also feature famous film scores by two other composers, Nino Rota and Henry Mancini, from films such as »The Godfather«, »Breakfast at Tiffany’s« and »The Pink Panther«.
