Felix Mendelssohn Jugendorchester
Smetana / Brahms / Mahler
Youthful enthusiasm meets top quality music: the Felix Mendelssohn Jugendorchester impressed all during their Grand Hall performance just a few weeks after the official Elbphilharmonie opening – and the young musicians now return to the Elbphilharmonie stage with a firework display of Romanticism. The musical journey follows the course of the Vlatva (or Moldau) River, with Bedřich Smetana’s symphonic poem of the same name. The orchestra arrives in Hamburg with works by Johannes Brahms and Gustav Mahler, and bring the concert to a close with Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances before returning east.
