Federspiel
»Wolperting«
It’s probably a bit of a faux pas for the traditionally-minded, combining lederhosen with sneakers, but the Austrian group Federspiel makes it their programme: the seven-person wind ensemble mixes international, cross-genre sounds with traditional folk music from their home region of Lower Austria. With their latest project, the musicians focus on a mythical creature from the Alps: the Wolperting. A legendary composite being that has never been seen but every resident of the Alp region has heard of. With »Wolperting«, Federspiel breathes new, acoustic life to this legend.
