A musical storm
The Icelandic composer and pianist Eydís Evensen stands on the threshold of what is guaranteed to be a remarkable career. Her debut album »Bylur« was released in 2021, in the middle of the pandemic. It was recorded in the Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavik by co-founders and the – we can now justifiably say – legendary Icelandic producer Valgeir Sigurðsson (Björk, Nico Muhly, Ben Frost). Unlike many albums from this time, »Bylur« (»storm« in Icelandic) is not about the pandemic, it is rather a very personal exploration of the highs and lows of 20+ years of childhood, adolescence and coming of age.
