Ensemble Resonanz / »durst« / »thirst«

Jesus raised his voice on the cross seven times as his end neared. His voice connected him to doubt, humanity and his body. »I am thirsty.« Joseph Haydn sets these last words as a kind of musical code: they have no syllables, yet shimmer through his compositions. They can now be heard in their purest musical form in the Laeiszhalle Recital Hall: eight Adagios, no breaks.
