Ensemble Resonanz / »coming together«
Purcell / Rzewski / Kalima – 2G+ AND PHYSICAL DISTANCE
The Continuation of a Total Work of Art
The prospect of »a greater coming together« causes a man serving a jail sentence to look at himself with an alarming amount of distance – and to recognise »the inevitable direction of my life«. He pays the price for a revolt with his life. »Remember me but ah! Forget my fate!« Dido sings in Catharge, before she stabs herself. Kalima’s guitars place veils around the legend. A collage of memories and forgetting, of freedom and constraint.
