Discover Talent: Geister Duo
Brahms / Ravel
Two that inspire
It’s striking, when you think about renowned piano duos in the classical music world – be that the Labèque sisters or the Jussen brothers – how many are family affairs. With David Salomon and Manuel Vieillard, two exceptional artists who don’t quite fit into that profile now take to the stage. The two Frenchmen first met while studying at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional in Paris – and it was there that they laid the foundation for this unique musical symbiosis: »We loved the same composers, the same interpretations. It was only natural that we began to play together.«
Their shared musical ideals and the goal of performing not only as artists giving concerts simultaneously, but as a chamber music ensemble, ultimately became the start of a long and fruitful collaboration. And that has really paid off: in 2019, the pair won Second Prize at the International Schubert Competition in Czechia. The First Prize at the ARD Competition followed in 2021, opening the door to the international stages of the classical music world.
