Dieter »Maschine« Birr wrote German pop history with his band Puhdys. Formed in 1969, the group quickly became the most famous rock band in the GDR. By the time the band called it a day in 2016, they had sold more than 20 million albums. Birr continues to perform and revives the legendary Puhdys Christmas concerts with »Alle Winter wieder«.
