For its first children’s concert of the season, the Symphoniker Hamburg dive into the depths of the ocean with the music of Akos Hoffmann. Together with Malin Büttner, the popular moderator from the »Sendung mit der Maus«, they tell the story of Hans Christian Andersen’s little mermaid.

The sea people – including the little mermaid – live far out in the ocean. The little mermaid is the youngest and prettiest of the sea king’s six daughters. But she is haunted by her yearning for the human world. On her fifteenth birthday the little mermaid is finally allowed to rise to the surface of the ocean and soon discovers the ship of a young prince. A storm destroys the ship, but the little mermaid saves the prince and falls in love with him. Will she find happiness with him? And what does the sea witch have to do with all this?

This event’s moderation takes place in German.
