Daniel Hope / Zürcher Kammerorchester
Gluck / Haydn / Mozart
There are not many artists as deserving of the epithet jack-of-all-trades as Daniel Hope: ambitious festival organiser, charming presenter, entertaining book author, passionate inventor of new concert concepts, and last but definitely not least, an excellent violinist who was heavily influenced by his mentor Yehudi Menuhin, and played major concert venues worldwide for many years as the youngest first violinist in the history of the Beaux Arts Trio. Hope has worked closely with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra for a long time. For their concert at the Elbphilharmonie this season, they concentrate their attention on the finest of Viennese Classicism, bringing to light one or two hidden gems in the process, such as Mozart’s gentle Adagio in E major.
