Continuum / Elina Albach
Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival
»My vision is to take this wonderful music … out of its niche and to help it reach people who would never voluntarily go to a Baroque concert,« says Elina Albach, harpsichordist and scholarship holder of PODIUM Esslingen’s »#bebeethoven« programme until 2020. The Berlin native has been working for many years on new concert formats and presentation forms that free seventeenth- and eighteenth-century music from ossification – like in the programme »Schlafes Bruder«, based on the novel by Robert Schneider.
Involved in Baroque and contemporary works, the story of the musically astonished Johannes Elias Alder is told on two different levels: that of instrumental music and that of language. With the inclusion of space, music making from different perspectives and with light and sound direction, the seven artists create a touching concert evening. The focus is on organ works by Johann Sebastian Bach in a five-part arrangement for the instruments that will be heard this evening.
