Ever since Martin Grubinger helped classical percussion achieve an undreamt level of popularity, more and more percussion soloists are appearing on the stages of major concert halls. One of the biggest talents among these is the Luxembourgian musician Christoph Sietzen, who has studied with Martin Grubinger Senior.

The first half of Christoph Sietzen’s recital is a solo affair. He is then joined in the second half by his marimba ensemble Wave Quartet, who will be performing works ranging from the baroque era to rock.

Percussion concerts often feature a number of works originally written for other instruments. This programme includes arrangements of compositions by Bach, pieces by the king of Tango Nuevo Astor Piazzolla and songs by American pop sensation Josh Groban. Sietzen juxtaposes these pieces with original works by composers such as Iannis Xenakis and Stewart Copeland, best known as the drummer in the legendary rock band »The Police«.

Renovation Work in Recital Hall Foyer: The Recital Hall Foyer is currently not accessible owing to renovation work currently being carried out. A cloakroom for guests will be provided on the Plaza in close vicinity to the entrance of the Recital Hall. Some intermission refreshments will also be on offer on the Plaza.
