»I firmly believe that music, by moving us, can be a catalyst for social change,« says Caterina Barbieri, an Italian composer with a degree in electro-acoustic music. In her works, she creates complex sound structures, psycho-acoustic illusions from repetitive impulses, and poly-rhythmic shifts – to enchanting effect. Barbieri’s aim on the (musical) intersection between humanity and technology is to put her audience in a trance.
